REGISTRATION FEES

There are two fees for every athlete upon registering Individual Fee and Sport Fee.

There is a one-time Individual Fee for all athletes. This covers the athlete’s cost of participating that includes T-shirts, medals, registration, insurance and credit card processing.

There is also a Sport Fee for every sport you register for. This helps covers the sport related cost of venues, officials, sport equipment, etc. Every athlete must register individually, there are no longer team fees.

REFUNDS

Refunds for the San Diego Senior Games (SDSGA) are handled as follows:

  • Cancellation of Event(s) by SDSGA – 100% refund
  • Athlete cancels 30+ days of event(s) – 100% refund – minus $5
  • Athlete cancels 15-29 days of event(s) – 50% refund – minus $5
  • Athlete cancels 0-14 days of event(s) – No refund

Understanding the Fee Structure of the Games

To help keep the Games as affordable as possible, we start with a single INDIVIDUAL fee,
then we add SPORT fees for all sports. (For Track and Field only, an EVENT fee will be added).

To clarify how this works:

  • INDIVIDUAL fee – All athletes pay a single Registration fee.
For example, whether you play in one sport or five sports, you only pay one INDIVIDUAL fee.
  • SPORT fee – Sports have an additional “Sport Fee” to help offset the costs of venues, officials, equipment, of that particular sport.
  • EVENT fee – Some Sports will have an additional “Event Fee” per event.  Your Registration fee of includes one event. For sports that have Doubles and Mix Doubles, these are event fees.
  • ALL EVENTS INCLUDED  – In some cases, the Sport fee includes all the Event fees.
For example, in BADMINTON, SWIMMING, and FITNESS the Sport Fee includes all the events within that sport at no additional charge.
  • MULTIPLE SPORTS  – One of the greatest things about our pricing structure (which began in 2018), is that athletes can play in multiple sports for only the Sport fee (plus any associated Event Fees, of course).

Separating the Registration fee from the Sport fees and Event fees allows us to keep the overall Games fees as low as possible for all our athletes.  It also gives our athletes added incentive to play in multiple sports.

If you have any questions about the fees associated with your specific sports,
please feel free to e-mail or call us at:

SCHEDULING

It is your responsibility to make sure the sports you choose don’t have time conflicts. Refunds are not provided for time conflicts due to overlapping events.

TEAM REGISTRATION

Team registration refers to men and women Basketball, Soccer, Softball and Volleyball. This does not refer to sports with partners as in doubles or mix doubles.

Team Manager/Captain must register the team first. The team manager will need to contact the team members to let them know that team registration is ready for individual team member registration.

Players may play on two teams in different age categories. However, in case of games being played simultaneously, player must only play on one team. Swapping between teams during the same time period is not allowed.

You may register for as many sports/events as you’d like as long as the dates/times don’t conflict. One event is included with your Player/Registration fee. Each additional sport is the Sport Fee of that sport.

PARTNERS

A partner should be indicated on the registration form by full name, birthdate, and age. If you are a player looking for a Doubles Partner, please contact the Sport Commissioner or call 858 292-5812. You may only participate in one doubles and one mixed doubles per event. The age of the youngest partner will determine the age category. All partner changes must be made one week before the competition.  Partner changes are not allowed on site.

EQUIPMENT

Participants are required to provide their own equipment for the events entered (except as specified under the sport description). Please be sure to mark your personal items and do not leave valuables unattended. SDSGA is not responsible for the loss or damage of any athlete’s personal equipment.

UNIFORMS

All athletes must wear the appropriate    athletic type of clothing and shoes for the sport(s) in which they are competing. Team sports require like color and style numbered uniforms. Equipment, clothing or shoes that are inappropriate or in violation of the sports rules will be cause for disqualification. The SDSGA Sport Commissioners have been authorized to make this determination. If you have any questions, please contact the Commissioner.
